While Carmelo Anthony’s signature line with the Jordan Brand leaves a bit to be desired, his Denver Nuggets-colored retros have always been highly sought after. Dressed in Varsity Maize and University Blue, this Air Jordan 2 “Melo” is primed for a comeback and Jumpman and Carmelo fans alike are excited for its arrival at retail. Apparently Nike isquite excited for the release as well, as one lucky (or unlucky, depending on how you look at it) patron ordered a pair of the Air Max 97 “Reflective Silver”, but received an Air Jordan 2 “Melo” in its stead. This is not the first slip-up courtesy of a shipping department, as one customer received an early pair of Bred Toes from Eastbay back in November, and another got shipped a Jordan 1 “Game Royal” instead of a “Bred Toe” from Nike SNEAKRS in the UK. While IG user, michman98 may be the first to get his hands on the AJ2 “Melo”, the rest of you will have to wait for its official drop on June 9th. The deadly black mamba snake has a long history in the world of sneakers. Before it became associated with Kobe Bryant, it served as the design inspiration for the Air Jordan 19 in 2004. The shoe’s sleek and unique serpentine aesthetic made it one of the most popular signature Jordan models of the mid-00’s. Now the snake-inspired signature sneaker is set for a re-release 15 years after it originally dropped, as it’s returning to market in April 2019. Set to arrive in a classic black/gold colorway, the shoe will likely feature a black patent leather toebox, large tonal black mesh lace cover, and regal gold detailing on the heel collar and outsole. Jordan 11 Low />With summer weather in full swing, pastel-colored kicks are all the rage, and a new Jordan 1 Mid that boasts an interesting take on tonal summer pastels has arrived. Entitled the “Phantom,” the new girls’ grade school sneaker features a light tan base and white midsole/tan outsole. Contrast arrives via light ice blue swooshes on the left foot and soft pink swooshes on the right foot. The interesting colorblocking doesn’t end there though: these Jordan 1s come equipped with 5 pairs of laces—three shades of blue, a pink, and a tonal sail—so you can customize the look to your heart’s content. Mis-matching details on the tongue patch ensures that whatever laces you chose they’ll provide a whimsical look, and a tonal debossed ball and wings logo on the lateral side of the collar completes the shoe’s look.
